Sure! Even if the item is a sectional sofa or a refrigerator, our app has a “CHIP IN” feature that will allow guests to give any amount of their choosing to a larger gift.
Can any IKEA item be added to a registry?
How can I add items to a gift registry?
In the store using the app, you can simply scan the item’s barcode or enter the eight digit article number listed on the item tag. You can also browse the catalog in-app or online catalog and add to your wish list. Lastly, with the app you can snap a picture of the item in the store and upload it to the list. A selfie with the product is a good way to show guests the items you really want!
Do all items have to be added to a list in the store?
Not at all. You will be able to add items by searching the catalog and/or entering the item’s article number no matter where you might be.
Can I add items directly from my computer instead of the app?
Yes. Although the computer doesn’t have all of the great functions of app, you are now able to manage your registry online and add gifts through the catalog on the registry site.
How can I notify my family and friends about my registry?
You can easily tap the share button and choose whether to share an individual item or an entire wish list via text, email or Facebook. We also recommend adding your registry to your wedding website if you have one.
How will I be notified when a gift is purchased?
You will receive an email every time a gift is purchased or chipped in for. You can manage all the purchased gifts when viewing your registry in the app or managing it online.
How can I redeem purchased gifts?
You can request to redeem gifts whenever you're ready. You will simply submit the request through the app and will receive a redemption code in the form of a digital voucher. All you need to do is to make sure to submit the request 24 hours prior to your visit to IKEA Etobicoke. Will gifts be shipped to me after purchase?
No. You will redeem a digital voucher at IKEA Etobicoke for your gifts and will then decide whether to utilize the store’s delivery services.
Can I register for services?
You can also add services to your wish list. For example, if you would like to add delivery to your registry - you simply need to ask about delivery at the IKEA Etobicoke Home Delivery desk, find out the flat rate for the zip code you live in, use the “Snap a Picture” feature in the app to upload a picture of the delivery desk or delivery truck icon on the wall, and add the quoted amount for delivery to your zip code to your wish list with the picture.
What happens if people chip in for a gift on a list, but don’t complete it?
If people chip in for a gift, but it’s not completed, the redemption voucher will include the value that was chipped in for. You as a registrant can choose to complete the purchase by making up the difference yourselves or select anything else in the store within the purchased value.

That’s the beauty! Registrants will be able to make all of those final decisions when redeeming gifts at IKEA Etobicoke. You can simply switch to something else when you come in with the digital voucher.
What is the return policy for gifts purchased on my registry?
When you redeem your gift, you have the full flexibility to select anything else you would like, using the amount on the voucher. If you did redeem a gift, the standard IKEA return policy applies for all gifts:

If the app freezes what do I do?
If the app freezes, you should close it out and reopen, that should help reset it. If you continue to have issues, please let the IKEA Etobicoke Support +1 (866) 866-4532 with any technical issues.
What if a bar code isn’t scanning?
You can tap “Can’t scan?”, it will allow you to enter the article number or search the item through the catalog. You also have the option of snapping a picture of the item and manually inputting its information.
Why does the camera have to go to sleep after each scan?
This is to help save battery life so that the camera isn’t constantly on while you are browsing the IKEA Etobicoke store
I'm having trouble understanding all the numbers. What does it mean "Gifts bought online"? What does it mean "Vouchers issued"? What does it mean "Remaining list balance"?
1) Gifts bought online: Many of your guests will purchase or chip-in for your gift through the online gift registry service. The total value of gifts purchased or chipped in for through the online gift registry service is provided here. You can create voucher(s) for the IKEA Etobicoke Gift Registry from this total and use them to redeem your gifts at the IKEA Etobicoke store.
2) Vouchers issued: If you have requested and received one or more vouchers, their total will be shown here. This is the total of the original value of the vouchers at issuance and does not account for any spend through those voucher which may have a lower balance.
3) Remaining list balance: This is the difference between 1 and 2 and with its value you can create a voucher i.e. some gifts have not yet been converted to vouchers. Once you choose to create a voucher and it is issued, the "remaining list balance" should revert to zero (unless more gifts have been bought for you in the meantime!)
How do I know what vouchers I have and how much each one is worth?
Your vouchers will be listed at the bottom of the My Vouchers screen. Each voucher will show an original value and a balance. To use the voucher, select it and show it to the cashier at IKEA Etobicoke. Immediately after requesting a voucher and for up to 24 hours, a voucher may be shown as pending. Once it has been approved you may use it in store.
I'm in the store and I just ordered a voucher and it has not been issued yet?
Activating your voucher can take up to 24 hours. Please speak with an IKEA manager.

Your voucher can only be used for purchases in the IKEA Etobicoke stores.
How do I put money on my voucher?
Once a voucher is created it can never be reloaded however you can create a new voucher if new gifts are purchased for you. When guests purchase gifts for you, you will see this on your app in the "manage my list" section. You can select "Get my gifts" and create a new voucher to be able to redeem these gifts in store.
How do I use my voucher when I check out?
Simply show your voucher to the cashier at the IKEA Etobicoke checkouts. The cashier will manually enter the voucher number and other details displayed on your voucher screen.
Can I use more than 1 voucher at once?
Yes, the IKEA Etobicoke cashier can take payment with multiple vouchers.
How do I check my voucher balance?

How long does it take to get my voucher once I request it?

Do funds on my voucher expire?
Funds on your voucher do not expire. Every 18 months your voucher will automatically be renewed, with no change to the voucher number.
Why do I have more than one voucher?
For regulatory reasons the maximum voucher value is $2000. Where your total gifts exceed this value, multiple vouchers are created when you request a voucher.
Can I pay for meals with my voucher?
You can use the voucher to purchase a meal at the IKEA Etobicoke stores if you have sufficient funds on your voucher.
Do I get a plastic voucher?
No, the IKEA Etobicoke Gift Registry voucher’s are virtual vouchers.
Can I exchange my gift total in my registry for cash instead of for a voucher?
No, your gift total can only be transferred to the voucher, which is accepted in the IKEA Etobicoke store selected at the time of registry creation.
